Excuses

I could think of a million and ten reasons as to why I have not blogged in a long while. But, the main reason; LIFE!

Let's see. We had a garage sale a few weekends ago. We cleared out the garage, organized our "junk" that had been in storage since we left for Germany in early 2005. Then it was purging all baby items from our home and garage. Yes, all baby items and clothes, too. There were some items from our single days that were finally "ditched" as well. All in all the garage sale was a success. We made more than we could have imagined or expected. God is good.

Last time I checked in, Lillian had pneumonia. She is getting better slowly, and we are hopeful to stay on top of her respiratory issues throughout the fall and winter.

Hannah started a new school!!! The church down the street has an accredited pre-school and her number on the waiting list finally came. She goes in the afternoons for 3 hours. She is loving her new teacher, friends and environment. It is also a blessing for me. It cuts down on the driving from twenty minutes each way to post to now only 4 minutes each way.

Madison is becoming our little reader. She will sit and read us books with great fluency. No, she still struggles, but her passion and drive is going strong and we are so proud of her. Math is proving to be a challenge at times, but she loves story problems. (No surprise, she likes to talk things out.) She is also into making lists. One morning when I was struggling to be "totally awake" making lunches, she made me this sweet list and brought me my glasses to read it. It was what she wanted in her lunch... can you decode it? Banana, chips, ham and cheese sandwich, yogurt, don't forget Froggie (her ice pack), fruit roll.

Chad is into his new position full swing. He got in-processed, passed his motorcycle safety course and then managed to catch pneumonia. After a long 4 day weekend he is starting to feel better.

Family movie night is coming back! Now that the weather is starting to change we are being "forced" inside more, so we are bringing back the ever popular movie night. We have had some good evenings snuggled up on the couch.
Life keeps going here in Missouri. We are finding a new routine and embracing the slower pace of life.
