Our family had a mini-vacay the weekend before the BIG weekend of
Christmas. Chad e-mailed on Friday letting me know to pack a family
overnight bag and we would be leaving for St. Louis Saturday morning for
a weekend of FUN and NO schedules.
We were able to keep the secret from the girls that we were going to
stay in a hotel which is a big deal to them, they were going to see our
family friend Laura and do lots of shopping and hanging out.
Our trip was a success. The malls were surprisingly NOT packed. People
were calm, our girls were well behaved and we had a weekend away as a
family to prepare for the craziness of Christmas that really helped us
focus on the CALM of Christmas and reason we celebrate. JESUS' BIRTHDAY!
