We do not have a terribly old house. It is only 20 years young, so you would think that the fixes that we do would be pretty simple. But, for some reason ALL projects that we do always run into some MAJOR snags. Seriously, I am not joking. I could tell you about the tile in the bathroom, the pipe work in the bathrooms and kitchen, the drains that don't drain, dry wall that just crumbles if you look at it the wrong way, etc.
Chad and I were feeling pretty confident that a simple "fix" in the kitchen to add storage and functionality to the space would be simple. Take measurements and then find the pantry that work for our kitchen, purchase and install. HA! What were we thinking. Even though it was the right "size" our walls are so warped it did not fit. So the best "fix" was to take the dry wall out. Yes, you read that correct.
In the end, I have new pantry space in a functional area of my kitchen. Granted I have a huge mess to clean up and still have to wait on those "sliding" shelves I was promised, but at least we got it to work (or should I say, CHAD got it to work).
