We have had several days of nicer weather. I am hopeful that the snow is gone and the sun, rain and warmer weather is here to stay for the Spring!
We spent this weekend outside working in the yard. We are so blessed to have a home and a yard to work in. It is something I have wanted for a long time. It is so much work, but rewarding. I am learning how much I like it.
Chad and I spent Saturday clearing out the backyard. When we moved here the fence was lined with random, ugly, misplaced plants. We have transplanted all of the plants and are a weekend away from planting more grass seed.
Our biggest excitement with the yard came today (Sunday). We transplanted a pretty good sized rhododendron from the back of the house to the front of our house. Then we took the evergreen from the front of the house to the side yard to "block" the compost pile. (Granted we still need to take a run to the dump for the large branches, it will cover the grass clippings this spring and summer.)
The girls were really good at helping. They usually stop after about 5 minutes, but something kept them going. Madison filled in the large hole in the back for us with a little hoe... in her princess gown and rain boots. Hannah helped daddy transplant in the front yard. Lillian, well she took a nap for most the time and then just sat and "looked pretty" while we all worked.
Just another weekend in the English Household.
How blessed we are to have this time to work as a family and be outside.
Loving it!
