Trip to the ER

Saturday started off to be a GREAT day. The girls and I had a quiet morning snuggling together and just enjoying the sun shining in the room. The house got spic n' span and we were dressed and ready to leave the house by 1030.

On our list of things to accomplish: Harley Davidson Dealership in Springfield, Walt-Patterson AFB, a quiet drive on the back roads, then a dip in the pool to end the day.

We made it as far as the Harley Davidson dealership and that is it!

While being quiet and well behaved, all three girls were on their own little cafe style chair around a cafe style table waiting for me to finish talking to the service department. Once we were ready to go to the next part of the dealership Lillian hopped down from the chair, but her leg got stuck (it was in the upper 90s plus high humidity!!!) sending her falling forward hitting the table ledge, then the chair in front of her and then the cement floor. I thought it would be a bump that a kiss and hug would fix but as I picked her up and moved her hand from her mouth it was flooding blood EVERYWHERE! I scooped her up to the bathroom, I could not get the bleeding to stop or find the source of bleeding.

Meanwhile Madison and Hannah went to find someone to help me with Lillian. After a quick assessment it appeared that she may have bit through her lip and damaged some teeth. I got Lillian padded up with a paper towel compress, got the older girls in the truck and hit the "emergency" button on my truck's GPS. The closest ER... 2.2 miles. THANK YOU LORD!

We were in a small town in the middle of Ohio, but they were wonderful, slow, but wonderful. They took us back within 20 minutes of arrival and the nurse and doctor were so patient with all the girls.

After an hour or so Lillian was given an "a okay" and we were sent home. Her lip has one layer of skin left before it went through, but you can see the teeth mark on the outside. The bottom inner lip in cut, split and mangled pretty badly, but no stitches were needed. Her upper gums are scrapped and bruised but her teeth are not loose and the gums should heal quickly.

I took a picture of Lillian this afternoon and from the "outside" she looks great! She would not let me pull her lip down to take a picture of the inside.

*side note: as if her mouth was not in enough pain, she decided to get another 2 year old molar this morning... poor thing!
