The Great Outdoors

It is amazing the good fresh air, dirt, wide open spaces, junk food, campfires and "just try not to get TOO hurt" advice can do for our girls and mommy and daddy.

Mommy swung on the vine too! I got caught.
We took another trip out to our friends property near Iberia over Veteran's Day. The guys got to talk "guy stuff" (still not sure what all those grunts, groans and nods mean), the ladies got to talk "girl talk" and not worry about the kiddos too much. All the while the kiddos swung on vines in the trees, dug in the dirt, played in the creek (yes I put my girls in their "wallies" from Scotland to so their toes would stay warm and dry), un-earthed random car parts, found cow bones scattered in the open pastures, roasted hot dogs and marsh mellows, and ate too many chips!

I can say I have never spent a Veteran's Day weekend in such a manner, but all the families there were Veteran's and we enjoyed the time with our soldiers and as their spouses are so proud of their service and dedication to our military and country, but most of all our God.
Hannah and Lillian enjoying the fire.
Cracklin' fire.
