Who knew Fort Leonard Wood could be so "cool" and have a cave you go
hiking down to? It is something I have wanted to do since last Fall and
finally go to do this past Sunday. It was 74* and absolutely beautiful.
Granted it is November and not typical weather for this time of year so
when we were talking with our friends at church we quickly set up a meet
up time to go "exploring" for the afternoon.
The girls loved hiking down the woods and loved the danger of the drop
off. Mommy... NOT so much. It was a test of my nerves the entire time,
but I know I have to learn to enjoy these adventures and explore with my
girls and hubby and not be so stressed.
After Miller's Cave we went to the natural spring that comes up on FLW
and walked the path until it flows into the river. We all sat down and
let our feet dangle and watch the water rush under us. Madison said it
felt like she was flying.
Winter is quickly approaching and we are looking forward to the snow,
but the random 70* days make it nice so sneak in some fun adventures
without all the extra bulk of the gear!
*The pictures are out of order... SORRY!
