A Day in the City

Friday we headed to Springfield to get some needed chores done, but in the midst of the chaos we planned a picnic tailgate lunch and a trip to the zoo for the girls.
The weather was a very WARM 83* F for mid March here in Missouri, however it was welcome.
Our family cruised around the zoo with not too much whining. (If I said no whining I would be lying!) That much walking for short, little legs is tough and there are HILLS everywhere you go here. We no longer own a stroller and are stubborn and won't rent one for the day. Daddy, Mommy and even Madison gave Lillian piggyback rides and Hannah somehow convinced daddy for a ride at one point.
The animals were out and enjoying the weather and it was not overly crowed since it was a weekday and not everyone here in the state is on the same spring break schedule.
It was a blessing to have daddy with us and enjoying the day off as a family.

Lillian was TERRIFIED! I was laughing the entire time and loved these guys.

Tiger, tiger, RAWRRRRRRR!

DOGGY! Oh, wait! Wolf! :o)

A "Hairy Cow!!!"

An all white Peacock. Very cool.

A nice breezy to cool us off... too bad the elephants were stinky.

Tailgating at lunchtime.

Madison giving Lillian a lift. Hannah and Daddy taking the lead.
