Cherry Blossoms

Living so close to Washington, DC we have the opportunity to enjoy the many things in the area.
This time of year is the Cherry Blossom Festival held around the tidal basin near the Jefferson, Washington and Lincoln Monuments.
Sunday afternoon we met up with the Chaplain and his wife from Germany and had some lunch. Then it was time to find the elusive parking. We were blessed to find a place not too far of a walk from the tidal basin. YAY!
The blossoms were right at the end of their peek. There were more than when Chad and I went last year when it was a good week past the peek. I can not explain how full, delicate and beautiful the blossoms are. Some of the trees have the blossoms coming out of the trunk. It is amazing to say the least. It is just tree after tree cascading down towards the basin and covering the walk ways like a canopy.
We walked around the whole basin and fought the crowds, but somehow I was just lost in looking up and enjoying all the activity. The older girls took turns taking a break in the double stroller and Lillian just hung out and talked in the stroller.
At the end of the day, our family stopped off at Bagaboo's Steakhouse and enjoyed some yummy food. All the girls were very dynamic and full of laughter. Yes, they were standing in the booths being monkeys, but we know we are blessed for three healthy girls. Madison and I had fun playing with the camera at the restaurant and in the truck on the way home.
70*, sun, family, friends and God's creation. Not a bad way to spend an anniversary.
