Power struggles, attitudes, stomping of feet, slamming doors, whining, silent treatments... that alone gives me enough chills to last all winter! But, truth be told that is our house at this moment. The girls have some how started "ruling the roost" Home life is chaotic at least, schedules are getting lax and going out is becoming next to impossible without a child running away, throwing a tantrum or BEGGING for something.
As a parent I know that I can not blame all of this on the kiddos. I have a huge role, if not the role, in how things are happening. (Chad, too of course!) Pinpointing one thing that may have led to this is silly, irresponsible, a scapegoat and unrealistic!
The answer... seek God, read up and PRAY!
The starting point, a book recommended to me by my sister-in-law Kim! I went to Borders and started the first chapter and declared it to be a book to buy NOT to borrow from the library. This afternoon I am praying for a long nap from Lillian, quiet reading or possible movie for Hannah and me curled up in front of the fire in the recliner reading and praying for wisdom. I am over this! Time for the respectful, responsible, loving children I know I have reemerge, a strong, happier, more informed mom (dad, too) in this home.
