Settled

Our journey to Missouri started out a little crazy, but I guess that fits being that our family is a little crazy.

We spent an entire Saturday packing our belongings, gathering free boxes from grocery stores and buying less than 100 dollars in supplies. It was a family affair. The girls helped daddy pack all their toys (more like threw them into the over sized boxes) and helped me pack clothes in suitcases so we were prepared for anything. Chad and I tag-teamed most rooms and very little was left for me to sort through the following Monday.
We took Sunday as a true day of rest and headed to church and then on to the zoo (our family's favorite spot). It was wonderful to be out of the house, away from the chaos and boxes. Of course the girls had a blast and we let them choose what they wanted to see and in what order.

We headed for Missouri on Thursday late afternoon. It was suppose to be a 1300 push-off but a lot of "stuff" popped up that needed attention before we headed out of town 3 hours LATE!

We hit St. Robert, Missouri our 0130 on Friday, checked-in to our hotel, got everyone settled in bed and then it was an early morning wake-up call to look at houses.

We met with the Realtor and she was wonderful. She had several houses for us to look at, they were fine, but I was holding out hope and praying the last house we saw (the one I had a gut feeling I wanted from the description and pictures) would be our HOME. Sure enough, we walked in and I had that, "Yep! I see us here!" type of feel. Chad knew ahead of time I was not out to find the biggest, best, fanciest, ubber perfect house. I wanted to find a place that was just big enough and met our basic needs. This was the house.

Papers were signed by 1100 and we started unloading the 26ft truck and 4x8 trailer by 1230. We had the Penske truck returned to the lot by 1630 that same day. Yes, we are crazy, nuts, determined, etc.

We spent two more nights at the hotel. We used it as a clean, uncluttered mess to retreat to after a day of unpacking. My hubby is BRILLIANT in coming up with this plan, even if I was unsure about it!

All the boxes we packed are unpacked. Most boxes that were in storage will be sorted and donated for the most part. We have not needed them in the last 3 years, why would we need the "stuff" now? We can fit the Sequoia in the garage even with all the storage boxes in there. There is lots of space here!

God has blessed this move. I feel overwhelmed with how I can see HIS hand on each day, each thing moved and the path HE set before us.

Each day this house becomes more of a HOME and the girls are loving the space to roam.

Just a side note... My bro was stationed at fort leonard wood a couple of years ago. I've totally been to your little town, a couple times!
