After many months of Madison asking, we finally went to Chocolate World.
We are about 2 hours from Hershey, PA where Hershey has a Chocolate World. Madison is in a phase where she wants to know how everything is made. What a great way to show her!
After a yummy bacon and eggs breakfast we headed out for a scenic drive on side roads, single lane covered bridges and farms galore. After the scenic drive the girls were ready for lunch. We stopped at Mac Donalds and had some lunch. Lillian ate more fries than Madison! :o) Thankfully Madison did not mind giving her the fries from her lunch. Such a thoughtful big sister.
Around 1300 we pulled up to Chocolate World. After a VERY cold walk (16* without wind chill) into the building we discovered the place top to bottom. Madison LOVED the 3D show and Hannah held the glasses saying "I don't like this" but was smiling and watching at the same time.
The "how it is made" ride was a hit and the girls asked to ride it two times. Finally the girls were able to play "factory worker" and caught chocolate in a little wheel and sent it into the wrapping factory. As a treat, we let the girls wander the chocolate store and choose ANY THING they wanted. Hannah chose a LARGE chocolate bar and Madison chose a modest Reeses Peanut Butter Cup. Lillian, well she was asleep and was fine without anything.
On the way home, Hannah crashed, Madison was wired with sugar and played with Lillian the entire drive home.
Wonderful day of just FAMILY TIME.
