Daddy Takes Over!

The art of egg dying has been taken over by daddy!!! Can I hear a Hallelujah?

Daddy has been in and out of town every other week for a while and so egg dying for the Easter eggs was put off until Easter morning. It actually worked out well. It was fun for them to have something to do while waiting for breakfast to be done. Our church service was not until 11:30am so there was plenty of time to get it all squeezed into a long morning.

I got to stand back and watch. Not getting too messy or hands on for the first time. I didn't have to have multi-colored fingers for days on end. How nice! Of course daddy is more creative and patient with the girls and they got to splash and do WHATEVER they wanted with daddy because he is COOLER than mommy. But, if that gets me "out" of egg dying duty and on the sidelines to watch, fine by me.

*Sorry there are no pictures of the girls in their dresses. I was recovering from strep throat (yes these are all just excuses, but honestly they are all legitimate!), the girls were not in the "picture taking mood" at that point and if they are not in the right mood we have learned not to force the issue. However, in a few weeks, when this mid-west weather (ie: tornado warnings/watches, severe thunderstorms, flooding) subsides, we will get them all dolled up again and get an "Easter" picture taken. PROMISE!
I had to add a picture of the cake Chad decorated for us. It had the cross with the sash. He said if I baked it he would decorate it! What a great man! It was yummy, too.
