A few months back Hannah's teachers announced that they would be taking a class field trip to the zoo in May. As the months drew closer they set the date in "stone" and it was scheduled for May 12th! Once Hannah realized that they were actually getting to go to the zoo as a class she asked Daddy, NOT MOMMY to be a chaperon.
See, Daddy loves the zoo. The animals, reptiles, fish, bugs and all that comes with being at the zoo. The best part... so does Hannah! That is why I was not offended when she asked Daddy to go and not me. Chad put in for leave for the day (civilian term: Vacation Day).
They spent the entire day at the Springfield Zoo. It is over an hour drive. The Preschool parents and teachers (those who went) all drove to the zoo then met up to have snack and lunch together, other than that everyone was able to go off and do their own thing.
From the stories I've heard they fed the giraffes, saw some really cool snakes, crocodiles, hippopotamuses, elephants, tortoises, lions, zebras and horses that had curly horns and stripes (I think they were some sort of antelope?). But, those are just stories. I have to just go off of what I heard since I was not there.
They had a wonderful time, just the two of them. A date, just Daddy and Hannah. That is a "Day of Leave" worth while. Next up will be a day for just Madison and then Lillian.
