Can a Bad Day Be a Good Day?

When the days get long and hard it almost feels IMPOSSIBLE to find the good.

Today is one of those days. I woke up to Lillian going potty at 0030, 0500 and then she NEVER went back to sleep. I know, why should I be complaining, she is going potty in the night, no need for diapers or pull-ups any more, but really? I thought I was done with the being woken up several times a night business. (just kidding)

The day didn't seem to get any better after the early morning wake ups. The coffee pot dripped all over the counter because a very clumsy, tired individual did not put it on the maker properly after filling with water. Shame on that person!!! OOPS! But no worries, I salvaged enough to get a cup and a half BEFORE the bus stop.

Bus stop... UGH! In the rain, cold, wet and with a very MOODY, tired 6 year old is never fun. At least she was headed to school for the day which always seems to make her in a better mood, eventually!

Then is was school for Hannah, but of course she does not have a rain coat, neither does Lillian and the rain was heavy, not the misty Oregon rain. This is the rain that one drop will soak you to your core. However, I should not complain since our allergies and sinuses are getting a break from all the pollen. (Once again trying to see the sunshine in the rain.)

The day continued to be crazy, Lillian wanted string cheese, but I was out. She had to throw a ROYAL fit until I agreed to take her to the commissary before picking Hannah up at school. Then Hannah wanted a sandwich for lunch but I cut it and that was DEVASTATING and it RUINED the entire lunch for my emotional one.

To fix the above issue we had popcorn for a snack. Somehow popcorn on any day (especially on a chilly, rainy day) makes most problems disappear.

Things are looking up. Lillian is accident free for the first day ever, she even did #2 without prompting or having a little "accident" on the way.

Now that the afternoon is winding down, I know I am in for a GREAT evening. Why? The house smells great from the "fresh rain smell" and chili and rice cooking away. Time to snuggle in with the girls and the blankets and enjoy some cuddles before Madison gets home and the homework and reading routine begins. (Though I am sure there will be MORE snuggles and cuddles after nightly bath.)
